"We were stuck in an elevator with eight people and Big Rob," adds Joe Jonas, referring to the band's illustrious security guard. "It was a 21-person elevator," notes Kevin.
Asked who panicked first, Joe says, "Me and Nick" – which prompted some disagreement from Nick.
"I didn't panic," insists the young star, who, mindful of his diabetic condition, points out, "I just didn't have my [blood-sugar] checker with me. No one had it on them, and I was afraid that if [my blood-sugar level] went low in an elevator we wouldn't be able to do anything about it."
Interjects Joe: "It went from, 'Okay, this is hilarious, we're stuck in an elevator, okay press the button,' to 'This is crazy, okay, I can't breathe, this is insane.' "
Fire Dept. to the Rescue
But at least the brothers – who with special guest Demi Lovato are preparing to kick off a 46-city tour in Dallas on July 27 (also joining the tour during its run will be cast members of Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam) – were in good company during their containment."Chef Tim Love was in the elevator, with us and he was trying to become Rambo in the moment," says Joe, who, as a fan of Love's cooking, had invited him to join them that day.
"It was really funny," says Joe. "It was crazy to see the fact that he was put in the situation."
To top it off, the entire experience was captured on film. "We had our photographer Rob Hoffman with us, and he had his video camera so he taped the whole thing," says Nick.
Adds Joe: "It ended with the fire department coming through with axes."
