TOP OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER OBSERVATORY HISTORY

VIEW FROM TOP OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER OBSERVATORY
EAST NEW YORK CITY ~ BROOKLYN BRIDGE ~ MANHATTAN BRIDGE

The Top Of The World Trade Center Observatory was located in the WTC South Twin Tower #2. It had an indoor & outdoor observation deck that delivered a 360 degree view of New York City, allowing visitors to see up to 50 miles away with clear skies. Once purchasing the Top Of The World Trade Center Observatory admission tickets, spectators were taken on a six minute virtual helicopter ride heading out of Verrazano Bridge, flying over Central Park, through Times Square & back to the World Trade Center buildings. Kiosks were located at various points in the exhibit verbally explaining the displays in a number of languages. The Top Of The World Trade Center Observatory was complete with gift shops, a pro shop even a food stand structured like a subway car advertising Sbarro & Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs.

VIEW FROM TOP OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER OBSERVATORY
NORTH NYC ~ EMPIRE STATE BUILDING IN THE FAR DISTANCE

From the 107th floor, visitors took an escalator to the 110th floor to experience breath taking views of all of Manhattan. A view from the 110th floor of the World Trade Center South Tower was unlike any other with sights of Rockerfeller Center, the Met Life Building, the Citigroup Center the Chrysler Building & the Empire State Building. Although there was an anti-suicide fence built to protect patrons from falling or jumping, it did not obstruct the observatory’s spectacular views.

TOP OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER OBSERVATORIES DECK TICKET
AUGUST 23 2001

This is the Adult Admission Ticket purchased just 19 days prior to 9/11. This ticket was printed inside the WTC before the tragedy. All remaining tickets & the printer used to print them were destroyed on 9/11. This is an unused WTC Ticket complete with the original perforated attached stub. Mint unused tickets are very rare as most were used to visit the World Trade Center Observation Deck.

The tickets came in two types: Adult & Child. Most tickets purchased were the adult tickets & therefore there is an approximate 10 to 1 ratio of adult to children tickets that were ordered. This makes the Child ticket incredibly rare & even more valuable!

When the Twin Towers were destroyed on 9/11 the Top Of The World Trade Center preferred agent 'Piccolo Gift Shop, Inc.' was left with unsold tickets & in desperate need of funds. Before the tragedy they sold WTC tickets individually & as part of a special tour package. To help keep their business viable they sold these tickets & this WTC ticket is from their collection.

We are selling this adult ticket as well as the rare child's ticket in our eBay store. This comes with a copy of Phil Piccolo's Validation Statement (Mr. Piccolo is president of Piccolo Gift Shop, Inc.) & a copy of the Piccolo Gift Shop Receipt Statement.

French Gnome Garden Faery

Photobucket

I have just returned from a cross-country Road Trip.

It has been far too long since I have visited my childhood home in Illinois.
It was thought that perhaps I might just accompany my sister
on her annual journey back home.
So, she and I  loaded up our 11 passenger van with food, children
and headed down the road one early Summer Morning.

Along the way, we enjoyed long, significant
(and not so significant) conversations.
While watching in awe as our diverse American landscape
stretched out in front of us.

And naturally, I indulged in a bit of doll making.

While working on a commission, I had a clump of Apoxie left over.
Not one to waste anythingand just for the fun of it,
I quickly fashioned a wisp of an armature
and sculpted a body from it.
.

Miraculously the next day, ...amidst all the road jiggling...
a sweet little French face the size of my thumb stared back at me.

Then, I put the pieces away.

When we returned two weeks later, some of my flowers had bloomed.
 Only their dried petals  remained
to let me know they had come and gone.

I took out the body and face...one thing led to another,
and a tiny 5 inch French Gnome Garden Faery emerged.

From the  flowers I had missed and other things too...

Her name is Gizelle.
She is so small and delicate and she tends a Garden full of Summer Memories.

If you would like to see more details, and read Gizelle's poem
beautifully written by Suzanne Milson (Pixie Andrew's mom)
 please consider visiting  her auction
by clicking on the ebay picture up in the right hand corner of this page!

Oh, and before I show you a new project,
please meet a young mermaid created especially for Cherrylinn.
A very dear friend of hers has comissioned this doll for her 12th birthday.
They both share a love of the sea and it's gentle inhabitants...

She was created for a bit more handling,
and will have three tail fins that can be interchanged.

I hope Cherrylinn will find a place for  this young mermaiden
in her heart.

She is ready to swim away home any day now!

Thank you, Daisy, for allowing me to be a part
of this very special birthday surprise...

On Trend with REGARD Magazine .... Lavender

The current issue of REGARD Magazine features fashion and make-up blogger, Dulce Candy. She burst onto the blog and YouTube scene a few years ago and has become extremely popular. With all of her success, she came to shoot with us not to long ago and looks radiant in super chic lavender dress by For Love and Lemons. She is definitely on trend wearing lavender. In fact, the new Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, while recently visiting the United States, attended a star studded Hollywood party in a beautiful, flowing pale lavender gown. Here are two ways to rock the pretty color. One now, and one later. Enjoy!
