NYFW Re-Cap: Rebecca Taylor

A refreshing collection is like Heaven on Earth. & that's exactly what you get at Rebecca Taylor for her Spring RTW 2010 Collection.

Normally, you would expect leopard prints and florals, but this go 'round there was a more feminine look with strong sillhouettes.

You could see shoulders waists and legs this season. I love it. Those dresses from previous collections were replaced with some sexier pieces: polka-dot high-waist denim shorts, metallic trousers, and quilted boyfriend jackets with bright tulip prints. Ruffles were given to us in smaller doses than usual. Overall, the collection is super dope and sexy. I'm sure I'll spot someone wearing something from this collection in an instance. Try me. :)

NYFW Re-Cap: Isaac Mizrahi

What do you get when you put a Hollywood soundstage, a rain machine, and a golf cart together? Isaac Mizrahi. This season, Mizrahi showed his a**!

The show was entitles Astaire Case (Ostacle Course) with menswear-ish elements that met the fifties era. Mizrahi held hints of deconstruction with jackets that had unfinished lapels. I think my favorite part of the collection was the sequined minidresses that are perfect for a cocktail night out. Oh, and the hirsute tinsel coat that was spotted on the runway screams premiere night down. Along with these, there were tulles that looked like they had been just wrapped about the body, floaty watercolor chiffons, and chic black and white numbers that were meant for a day on Palm Beach.

"I still believe that fashion has to be gorgeous and colorful and fun. That's entertainment." -Isaac Mizrahi

NYFW Re-Cap: Diane von Furstenberg

Don't worry people, I won't do a re-cap on EVERY collection, lol. Just a few that I thought caught my eye and might tickle your fancy. Bare with me.

DVF's Spring collection seemed to pick up right here her Fall 09 left off. This season gave me much Egytian nomad tease with the tiger-print safari suits and leopard-spot shirtdresses. You could also see some floral-appliqué chiffon and a daisy-chain maxi dress that made my heart flutter. Although the show was full of dresses, there were also a few tailored pieces sprinkled in there every now and then. Variety always wins: printed-silk and lace-foil belted jackets aren't really office wear but the "silhouette is on trend". There was a mix of over-the-top, but with some more ground looks that made this collection go awf!

NYFW Re-Cap: Anna Sui

Pop sixties was all I could think of while I was reviewing the Spring 2010 collection of recent CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Anna Sui. With her also recent collaboration with Target, Anna Sui was bound to come out with something to live for. The clothes had me feeling like I was at the circus with models wearing Mary Quant Sassoon cuts and Jean Shrimptons with flowered head scarves that had prints of circus animals, paisley, or apples. Another thing I noticed was that this collection was a lot more boyish than her previous collections. Nothing's wrong with a little change. The boyfriend look is so in. :)

"I'm always about optimism and exuberance. It's what I feel about fashion," Sui says.
