The Plea...

Is it just me, or does it seem like the fashion world lacks substance (particularly in America), originality, and most of all variety? I would contend that it does. If I want any originality to be in my wardrobe I must spend a fortune, and that’s only for a limited amount of options that many times are sub-par. This is not to attack any particular brand of clothing, on the contrary, such clothing lines like Moschino (as mentioned in Christopher Nics photo article) do a perfectly stupendous job at keeping mens fashion-line vibrant, but at a price of course. (Then again you don’t see many men in America wearing high-top leather combat boots with a pinstripe producer dress pants tucked in, in France you might, but then again that’s France, where originality & beauty runs rampant in the streets.) No, this is more directed towards the close-mindedness not only we have as customers, but also the clothing designers who are simply scared to come out of their box. As a customer we need to break boundaries for ourselves, this means buying the unexpected and making a name out of it, for designers it means to be bold, and I don’t mean taking away a zipper and putting a button in it’s place. Let us all remember, the only good art is the original art, and fashion is the most unique of the arts.....
