‘Camp Rock 2,’ Jonas Brothers pull in 8 million viewers
How big was the premiere last night of “Camp Rock 2: The Last Jam”? The sequel pulled in 8 million viewers, making it the top cable movie so far this year.
Keep that figure in mind when this weekend’s box-office numbers come in: Disney Channel estimates the Jonas Brothers movie, based on last night’s premiere alone, would have generated $63.2 million at the multiplex. (The average movie ticket price is $7.95, Disney Channel says.)
Disney Channel will repeat the movie, which also stars Demi Lovato, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Saturday version will be a sing-along.
The DVD, with two extra numbers, comes out Tuesday.
Not surprisingly, Disney Channel was the No. 1 network in all of television from 8 to 10 last night.
Sounds like this won’t be “The Last Jam.”
