The Jonas Brothers, who live in Westlake just a stone's throw north of Fort Worth, are on a 12-city tour, pledging not to text while driving. Their softball team, the Road Dogs, will make a stop Sunday (Sept. 12) at the Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. The heartthrobs will play an exhibition against the Marquis Jet Flyers.
The event is part of Allstate's X the TXT movement.
Gates open at 11 and game time is 12:15 p.m. Admission is free. So far, more than 8,300 fans have joined the Jonas Bros. in taking the pledge at similar events nationwide, according to a press release.
"Pledging not to text and drive is a promise to your friends, your family and yourself to keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel," Kevin Jonas said.
Fans who participate in the pledge get "TXTNG KLLS" thumb bands and could also win autographed T-shirts and other prizes.
