The Black Barbie Issue

This same time last year, Italian Vogue made fashion world history with its "All Black" issue, which sold out on many newsstands. This year, they've decided to go for the same thing, with just a little twist. The issue comes with a delightful spread devoted solely to black Barbies. It is Barbie's 50th birthday, after all, and while this supplement is not full-sized like a regular magazine (it's about 6 inches wide; 7.5 inches long) somehow the doll scale makes sense.

I would've rather seen REAL black models posed, but I guess this will suffice. I still love it!

Designers Do The Darnest Things!

What do you get Barbie for her 50th birthday? No, not a toy convertible or a new Ken to play with. But how about a pair of Christian Louboutins.

It's been reported by WWD that the world known doll will be TIPPIN' in a pair of pink Christian Louboutin high heels for her birthday. The shoes will be released along with the designer clothing that Barbie will be wearing on her birthday during New York's Fashion Week in February.
