The Row Is Expanding

I haven't heard too much from the Olsen Twin's lately, which could probably be a good thing. But now the Olsen's clothing line, The Row has expanded into their infamous accessories - sunglasses. Signing a licensing deal with Linda Farrow to make shades ranging in price from $325 to $390. It seems kind of pricey for their new line, but if they were able to sell plain turtlenecks for around the same price, I don't see the problem in the price in shades. They are also looking into handbags in the future, which I know will be D-O-P-E. I can even see them moving into the cosmetics. I don't see that going too far...but selling, nonetheless.

Furry Little Friends

This season fur is everywhere! The most commonly found use of fur (or faux fur) is in the new shaggy fur vests that won't keep you warm, but will keep you current. That's all that matters right?

Every store at every price point has a version of fur this fall...BB Dakota did fur lined hoods that we've seen before, AE has furry boots, and Express has chic leather jackets with removable fur collars.

This version of fur is not the grannie Sunday morning furs, its the rock star edgy furs. Bloomingdales and Urban Outfitters has some of the best edgy furs at...ok prices, that only need a dope boot and ripped skinny jean to shut the show downnnnnn. For my frugal friends we all know we can get the next best thing at Forever 21 and rock out with the best of them ;-).

For PETA's sake lets make it faux fur.

She Nails It... Everytime!

In Marie Claire's September issue, Ashley Olsen opens up and spills all of her secrets... fashion secrets that is. Ashley jokingly pokes fun at herself from her younger years of fashion, and boldly smiles at the fact that now she has the fashion world wrapped around her small petite finger. Mary-Kate made us wear leggings again and Ashley made boyfriend blazers sexy for all occasions, yessss their amazing. Ashley's spread in the September issue is uplifting with soft vintage attire and simple accessories. Even if you don't buy the magazine, you should at least stand in the check out line and give your eyes a treat!

The Newest Additions

Yesterday morning, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (abbreviated, CFDA) revealed its newest members. Among the new members were twin fashion moguls Mary Kate Olsen, and Ashley Olsen.

The CFDA is basically, the only governing body for the style industry in the US so to become a member is sort of a HUGE deal. The membership includes a membership form akin to a college application, plus recommendations from other industry professionals and a voting process to accept or deny your presence. Mary Kate and Ashley won acceptance for their two clothing lines, The Row and Elizabeth & James, which are sold at big boutiques around the world. I think some form of congratulations is in order. Let's hope it doesn't involve an illegal substance with these two.
