MTV Europe Music Awards: Beyonce Performance

She ATE it.

Beyonce will always be one of the best performers I've seen. She's done "Sweet Dreams" numerous times for performances, and each times she gives us a twist - something new. She was the finale performance for the MTV European Music Awards 2009.

Performances included Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and many more.

Beyonce x Lady GaGa

OMGaawwd! Please let it be so!

Two of LLM's favorite girls, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, will be teaming up for Bey's heavily anticipated upcoming single, "Video Phone." A Life & Style source states that "on Oct. 7, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé were working on the video together at a studio in NYC," an insider reveals exclusively to Life & Style. "Everything on the set was being kept very hush-hush, and security was extremely tight."

The picture to the left is from the studio, last week (Prop. of Getty Images). I just know this will be dope like sh*t and full of crazy fashions. Keep eyes and ears open!

Billboard Bey

This past Friday, Beyonce accepted the "Woman of The Year" award at the Billboard Women In Music event. She looks stunning in the pale blue dress.

Still trying to figure out the designer. Sue me, ok? It's late while I'm doing this post.

She is awesome and what I wouldn't give to sit and soak up all her awesomeness.

Also, Beyonce's is scheduled to be on Oprah sometime this week. Check in with us for more details on that.

Beyonce Can Cure Cancer?

Ok, she can't cure cancer. But, above, is a video of Bey in Sydney, Australia on Friday night. She brought a little girl named Chelsea who is suffering from cancer on stage and sang “Halo” to her. Make sure you have napkins near you before watching. I love this woman.

Mommy and Daddy, I Love You!

The sickest couple alive, was recently spotted at the "Answer The Call" event for a charity concert conference out in New York. Bey look fab as always, making mini Bey(ME) very proud. I am curious about how she sat down with all of that wire around her lower half, but on the other hand who cares?? DOPE is DOPE!

Nine Nods

Yesterday MTV announced the nominations for their 26th annual Video Music Awards. Beyonce and Lady Gaga were both nominated for NINE categories! Check out what Beyonce said about holding the title with Gaga:

“I’m excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs,” Beyonce said. “I’ve been blessed this year to have ‘Single Ladies’ become a video people really connected with and responded to. I’ve spent so much time watching all the great versions people created all around the world. It’s beautiful to feel you touch people and bring a song to life with a video.”

Lady Gaga also had comments on this huge accomplishment:

“After years of hustle in New York City, where we made our art videos in bars, myself and the Haus of Gaga are honored to receive nine nominations for the 2009 VMAs,” she said. “We believe in the immensity and the promise of ’showbiz’ and will continue to give it mouth-to-mouth, till its vomiting return. All you need is a camcorder, a flashlight and one truly great idea. Thank you, MTV, for being our video flagship, and for supporting this bunch of inspired kids, who love to get wasted and make art together.”

The 2009 MTV VMAs are set to air on September 13th at 9 p.m. so set those alarms and get that DVR ready just in case.

Sidenote: Keri Hilson was NOT nominated for any award. Shade...

Sasha Fierce!...For Girls?

Beyoncé and mother, Tina Knowles are looking to use the artists' alter-ego Sasha Fierce to their advantage. The mother-daughter duo are in the works of launching a new junior apparel label, Sasha Fierce for Deréon, for back-to-school selling.

The collection, which is inspired by Beyoncé’s stage presence (Check out tour dates, if you've been sleep for the past month or so) includes sportswear, handbags, shoes, eyewear, lingerie and jewelry. Tina states that the collection is “edgier and trendier and reflects Sasha Fierce’s daring and outgoing attitude.” The jewelry, shoes and eyewear, she added, “are really over the top” with large chains made in mixed metals such as silver with gold, heavily studded shoes and oversize sunglasses such as the ones Beyoncé has been seen wearing on tour. The clothes are more along the simple lines, so that the accessories stand out — things like a one-shoulder dress, black bodysuit, fake leather jacket with oversize collar, leggings and destructed jeans with mesh and lace details lining the ripped material. Nothing to fancy, right?

The collection wholesales from $25 to $75 and will be available in department stores like Macy's, Dillard’s, Jimmy Jazz and Against All Odds.

BET Awards 2009

The 2009 BET Awards made sure to honor the man who they owe much to, Michael Jackson. Learning of his death only days before the show, Debra Lee made sure we knew how feverishly the staff worked to rearrange the show according to the tragic and untimely death. So bravo BET for that! When Janet came out I'm sure everyone got the same feeling of heaviness on their heart like I did, because we all know how close these two were. I also applaud her for speaking for the family.

Ok, but honestly the BET Awards would've been nothing without all my funny folks on twitter (make sure you follow us @livluxmag, and @christophernic...shameless plug). The most memorable tweets of the night:

"Somebody tell Monica to pull her pants up in the middle"
"Yeah Beyonce did call them some hoodrats" (referring to Keisha and Monica)
"Ne-yo head look like a fat fat elbow"
"...so Amber Rose is giving all the strippers across the world HOPE. See - MJ touched everything including poles."

I didn't tweet them! I just laughed ok people, lol.

Some parts of the show were really good, like when Travis Barker came out and rocked it (literally), when Maxwell performed (and won my heart) and when Alicia accepted her Humanitarian Award with such grace and elegance (despite the blemish meanies).

Other parts were average. A lot of people thought Beyonce could've came a little harder, but I think she sang beautifully, and she performed like a legend in her own right. (Hated the boa lined dress though). And Ciara gave a mediocre performance seeing that she can dance much better than Ne-yo or Jamie, she should've played a bigger role in the MJ tribute.

Other parts were not so good...AT ALL! Like when Drake and Wayne performed every girl with LITTLE GIRLS on the stage! Come on now, no one in their entourage had the nerve to say..."Maybe you shouldn't bring your kids out this time Wayne". It was very pedophile creepy-ish. Or when Keri (sorry girl I still love you!) stopped singing in the middle of her performance because she was winded. And the abundance of Jamie and Ne-yo performances were just uncalled for, where was Usher? Who died and made Jay-z ruler of the universe to where he could ban Chris Brown from showing up? And could Justin not perform because he's white???

Other than the obvious but excusable messiness because of time constraints, The BET Awards were pretty entertaining for a Sunday night. But as a whole, the network still has some work to do.

"They was dancing and sh#+" ...(lol don't act like you didn't die laughing at that slip up)

"Who's Your Favorite?"

Liv Lux Magazine is always interested in what our readers think is dope. So as apart of Music Week we are going around and asking different people who their favorite artist is and why?

Our first person I caught is a fashionable cat from the ATL by the name of Draco Banga. Hot, huh? Lol.

LL: So who is your favorite artist & why??

DB: Well of course I would have to say Beyonce. She is the total package, her music is great, she is an entertainer, & I just love her lol. Another plus is that she is now she is starting to really get recognized because of her fashion (clothing line)which I am happy about.

I also caught an college friend of mine from Toronto, Stephanie, to ask her who her favorite was. She keep it sweet and simple.

LL: Who is your favorite artist? Why??

SK: My all time fav artist might be a little to late, but its Michael Jackson. He is the King of Hip Hop and R&B. He is the truth. I love him. :)

Maybe we'll catch you next! You better be ready...
