Ad of The Week
Matthew Williamson's collection for H&M is mesmerizing! The colors and airiness calls for a trip to the tropics...or at least Miami Beach! I think this is probably one the most exciting H&M collaborations because this collection isn't that far off from his normal collection...there is no lacking in the design and quality which means all us penny pincher's should rejoice.
Only thing missing is a pina colada

Papa bear, Moma Bear, Baby Bear...
Lol...that title was the first thing that came to mind when I saw these bags. Designed by Bill Amberg, these bags are modeled after classic medicine bags that now have been morphed into a slick and stylish briefcase. Made from English bridle leather and lined with calf suede these bags are sure to nurture a sick fashion soul back to good health.

Pretty Nike Princess
These Paule Marrot Dunk collabs have my name written all over them. Since I'm not a big sneaker person, the kicks I do find interest in has to be able to be worn with dresses and have just enough feminine detail. And these just look like shoes tinker bell would wear if she decided to just rock some kicks one day. Ahhhh I love em.
I'll take a 7 1/2...please and thank you.

A Shoulder To Lean On
Spring Couture runways we're over flowing with expensive fabrics, elaborate details, and exposed shoulders. I guess knowing that the decolletage and clavicle is one of the sexiest parts on a woman, they wanted us ladies to flaunt our assets. From Christian Lacroix to Elie Saab...they all decided to show a little skin, but in the most appropriate and lady like way of course. I have to say, it certainly has me taking a second look at my spring and summer wardrobe. I may have to squeeze in a few shoulder baring ensembles myself.

What??? Why???
Is this a joke?? Mr. Footloose, Omarion, is coming out with his own dancing shoes. Get this...they're called the "Oboi's". Huhhhhhhhh that name alone just gives me headaches, then you look at them, and they look like the poor man's Air Yeezy's. I really want to know who agreed to put these in production and market them, and oversee this whole catastrophe of a project. This money could've went to something else...anything else!
Let's hope that he at least breaks even on his investment. smh

Best of Both Worlds
Designer's always play with the mix of menswear and women's ready to wear. These necklace's by Rojas blend to two sides perfectly without going too far. They still have a very feminine feel with the pearls and delicate gold chains. This is a lot more interesting than a normal string of pearls and at 50 bucks a pop, you won't break the bank.

Charlize Theron Pulls A DIY
A couple days ago actress Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault had their Venice wedding and wedding party where they invited dozens of celebrity friends to share the special occasion with them, with one of them being Miss Theron. Now, the picture on the left shows Charlize arriving at the wedding in a long pearl gray Christian Dior gown. She leaves the wedding party that night in the same gown...just a little shorter (right picture). Hmmm...seems like someone pulled a Kate Moss a couple years back when Courtney Love stepped on her Dior gown at the V&A Ball. I give her an A for effort!

Floats My Boat
Guys, these Paul Smith boat shoes are ideal for the summer. Bright enough to grab people's attention, but classic enough to not look like a candy colored fool. These are the kind of shoes that you get in every color because you know they'll be a season staple. Just looking at them makes me want to put on a summer dress and take a walk through the park(on the sidewalk of course...can't mess up the shoes now).

Spring Dream
Hmmmm...
People are wasting no time documenting every aspect of the Obama's time in office. Everyone has been raving over Michelle's amazing style, so Mandi Norwood penned Michelle Style, Celebrating the first lady of style. I love the concept and all and I'm sure I will love the book...but Mrs. Obama still has over 3 1/2 years in office! I know the best is yet to come from her so I think Mandi may have jumped the gun. Regardless we can't deny that Michelle gives us all style inspiration, so it wouldn't hurt to add this book to your library.

MTV base's first presenter is liberian
Nadia Bitar has been announced as MTV base's first presenter. This 26-year-old will be presenting the show MTV base Live! and her first show (MTV base LIVE! Ghana) can be seen at 9pm on Wednesday, with a repeat at 7.30pm on Youth Day, June 16.
Born of mixed Liberian-Lebanese parentage and growing up during the Liberian civil war, TV presenter, model and actress Nadia quickly discovered how to be motivated and adaptable. After working for household-name fashion labels such as Gucci, Nadia's interest in the television industry encouraged her to pursue a media studies degree in television.
She subsequently capitalised on her practical knowledge as a freelance production assistant and researcher at Sky News Network, and for BBC's consumer affairs programmes.
In her spare time, she managed to find an acting role on BBC2's Harry and Cosh.
Nadia recently spent two years visiting and living in various countries including Burundi, South Africa, Rwanda, Spain, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Uganda, and the US. After six years in London, she moved to New York, where she has focused on her modelling career. She recently completed a modelling assignment for Tommy Hilfiger's summer advertising campaign.
Here we find out more about this passionate and confident young lady.
Date of Birth: January 23, 1979Place of Birth: Monrovia, Liberia.
First Memory: Crying because my sister and cousin were going away to boarding school and I didn't want to be left behind.
First Pet: We grew up with a zoo, literally, dogs, cats, rabbits, gold fish, anteater, monkey, antelope. The list goes on. I guess the first thing that was mine was my albino pigeon.
First Crush: Prince Tolbert - my first love. I was 13.
Favourite Colour: WhiteFavourite Item of Clothing: Jeans, I live in them.Favourite Fashion Brands: Roberto Cavalli, D&G, La Perla and Jimmy Choo. I'm loving Dsquared right now.
Favourite Pass-Time: Writing and reading.
Worst Fashion Disaster: My family says my white cowboy boots. I used to tuck in my jeans, I was so skinny - it was quite a sad state. I still think they're cool and of course I still have a pair of weather beaten cowboy boots.
Favourite hangout (New York, London, Cape Town, Liberia?): Oh, that's unfair! New York: my neighbourhood, I live in Greenwich Village - cute coffee shops, the pier, shopping! London: Maison Blanc café - the best almond croissants in the world! And (horseback) riding in Hyde Park . Cape Town: on a catamaran at sunset looking at Table Mountain and the city. Liberia: on the beach - I'm a beach bum!
Favourite band/artist: Top five: Brandy, Floetry, Keane, Destiny's Child and Linkin Park.
Favourite song: Now you're gone by Floetry.
Favourite movie: The English PatientFirst CD ever bought: Boyz ll Men Evolution
Last CD you bought: Mariah CareyFavourite music genre:
R&BFavourite Food: Grilled steak or fois gras on a bed of arugula, drizzled in cherry balsamic vinegar.
Favourite place on earth: Swimming in the sea. There's a calmness about me when I'm swimming that seems almost spiritual. There's an island called Lamu off the coast of Kenya that has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There's coral, dolphins, little ponds of water and this silver plant on land that seems to sparkle when you're in the ocean.
Favourite holiday destination: Greece - Mykonos, Sefalonia and Santorini.
Hobbies and passions: Horseback riding, writing poetry, cooking, reading and travelling. I live to experience new things.
What's your best feature: My eyes.
Biggest Inspiration: My sister. She believes in me and supports me.
Biggest dream: Working on a lifestyle show travelling the world and showcasing beauty in diversity. Basically what I'll be doing for MTV, only reaching a larger audience.
What's the worst injustice in the world: Poverty. We live in a world where babies die of hunger while politicians fatten their Swiss bank accounts. Need I say more? How would you make the world a better place? Getting a few people to not be afraid of the unknown. I believe that racism, terrorism and war are caused because people are afraid of what they don't know. I believe in karma and doing unto others as I'd have them do unto me. When I can get that across to a few people in the hope that they will do so also, then my work here is done. And I can move onto the next issue.
Who's your best friend? My sister, Laila Bitar.
Biggest Regret: I live in the present and believe that everything we do teaches us a lesson, whether negative or positive, and I try to take that from every experience - hence, I have no regrets. If I had to do it again I wouldn't change thing
