Ask Liv Lux!
"Hey Doni!!! Since you are always fly I figured I would ask a pro. I am a big girl (very comfortable w/ myself) and like any other lady I like to look fly. I go to the normal stores Lane Bryant and Simply Fashions and they are okay but I see every other plus sized girl with the same fit on as me. Any pointers on different stores or any different styles I could rock and still keep my own swag???"
LaQuanda
LaQuanda
Well LaQuanda I know that the full figured woman has limited options...BUT! There are some things you can do to stand out from the rest. First I would consider shopping online. There are plenty of options out there on the web that cater to the women with curves. I did some digging and I really like Torrid.com, Kiyonna.com, and Igigi.com.
Igigi.com
The second thing I would suggest is to look in ususal places. Right now menswear inspired looks are really hot, so you can go to the mens department, which carries larger sizes, and spice it up with a waist belt and a pair of heels. Not only will you be current with the trends you'll also stand out like you want to.
Hope I helped in your quest to be fly! Happy Shopping!

Marcus from Ohio asks:
Are there any designers we should be looking out for this fall?
Well actually Marcus, I just recently ran across the hottest men's fall collection EVER! The looks from Nicholas K's fall collection is the epitome of stylish but still masculine at the same time...
I just found out about Nicholas K about a week ago and fell in love with their spring 08 line collection as well. With me being a fan of double-breasted coats, I want every piece in the collection. Another plus is that most of the pieces are black(my favorite color!)
The designer for Nicholas K is none other than...Nicholas K! Before Nicholas K, Nicholas L. Kunz worked with fashion houses such as Calvin Klein, DKNY, Tommy Hillfiger and Polo. She also oversaw the design and coordination of five new labels. Ole girl has one hell of a resume!
If you haven't checked out any of Nicholas K's designs, visit the website at nicholask.com
Get into it. And if anyone else has any questions you would like to ask us here at LivLux, just drop us a message in a comment or email us. Thanks!

Tynee from Michigan Asks:
"I'd like to know which clothes would fit me best since I have a large apple bottom?"
Gosh Tynee is wish an apple bottom was my problem! I do understand your concern though, not all shapes are flattering on all shapes and sizes. Most people with a large behind make the mistake of showing it off in a way that is not as cute as they think. Here's a few pieces of advice that I would suggest.
A-Line

I like this dress for two reasons (1) It's belted at the waist so it gives you more of a womanly figure, creating a waist even if you don't have one. (2) It's flared (or A-lined) allowing you to cover up anything you might want to hide. Now you don't have to hide what you were blessed with and honestly this dress wouldn't hide it...it just displays it in a more attractive way. I would suggest to go a slightly longer in length then what's pictured here.
Straight Leg Pants/Jeans

Wide or straight leg pants are great for large bums. They don't hide it, but they don't display it for the world to see. From the widest part of your leg (the hip) your pants should fall straight to the floor with no indentation through the thigh or knee. This first of all makes you legs look crazy long, and second it's a classic shape that will last forever.
Now of course I know you can't wear these shapes everyday, but I just recommend avoiding low rise jeans (crack is wack), and white pants...big mistake.
Hope it helps! Thanks Tynee!
For everyone else, if you have questions that you are dying to have answered just drop us a line...can't wait to hear from you!

Danielle from Michigan asks:
What is your dream career?
Hey Danielle! This is a great question because I have known what I wanted to be for quite some time now...like 3 weeks, lol. No, but honestly, my dream jobs have changed a couple of times but they still revolve around my one true love-fashion. But now I am almost 100% sure that I would love to be the editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia. Yep, that's right. Italia. I feel as though Vogue Italia is one of the BEST fashion magazines in the world. And I have to say that it is far better than American Vogue(Step ya game up Anna!). It gives me much more fashion than any other magazine out there. I know you're probably thinking like "What's the difference? They're both Vogue!" But trust me, next time you go to Borders or Barnes & Nobles pick up both issues and flip through them...I guarantee you will automatically see the difference. But yea, I would love to head such a awesome magazine. To be such a significant name in the fashion world is just an ultimate goal of mine. I want Christopher Nicholas to be mentioned in every household around the world! And on behalf of Liv Lux, I would like to wish Danielle a Happy Belated Birthday! Danielle turned 16 yesterday you guys! Hope you had a great b-day and thanks for being a faithful reader! Love ya! ;-)

Ask Liv Lux!

Jay from Atlanta asks:
What made you start Liv Lux?
Well first Jay I wanted to tell you that I really appreciate you being a daily reader, Liv Lux loves you for that. And the reason I started Liv Lux is because I'm a born leader and I really really really love fashion, and I needed the freedom to write the way I wanted to write. I have a plenty of ideas bottled up inside me all the time and without a creative outlet, you can go crazy. Now LivLuxMag.com was started for the same reason but I saw that Chris was getting into blogging as well so I wanted us to both have a place to "run free" with our passion. Mr. M Legend then expressed his interest in Liv Lux joined the roster and he now gives you beatness every week, lol. So the ultimate reason for Liv Lux is for people like you who love to hear the word, and people like me who love to give it.
Thanks Jay!
If you have any questions feel free to drop anyone of us an email.

Ask Liv Lux!
Casey from Texas asked:
"What's your favorite designer and why?"
Well, Casey I'm really too indecisive to pick just one designer, but I will say my favorite designer of this season is John Galliano for Dior. He really brought back the lady like 40's style that I've been dying to get into. As a avid watcher of classic movies classic styles have always appealed to me and so this collection was really the icing on the cake.
I must say that none of the models in the show really gave the clothes no justice because back in those days, women had curves that made the clothes look a lot better. But none the less it is a beautiful collection. Galliano always makes his collections larger than life and that's why he's my favorite designer...of the moment :-).
What would you like to "Ask Liv Lux?" drop us a line and we'll answer all your questions!
