Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2010

The weather channel shows no sign of spring in sight, but yet-in-still our beloved designers are working their butts off in preparation for New York Fashion Week, happening next month in Bryant Park. Style.com has some treats for us who can't wait a month for the models to prance down the runway...pre-fall 2010 looks from a select few lines ranging from Vuitton to Rag and Bone.

While breezing through the collections, this look stopped me dead in my tracks and I hope the fall trends lean towards this silhouette. Capes are great winter alternatives and this one is definitely more stylish with its graphic pattern, front buckles, and of course the LV logo.

The hint of peek-a-boo thigh and ankle strap heels make this entire look adorable! Seriously I don't want to show your any other look, so if you want to see them...go look for yourself, lol.

I can't wait to see what fashion week has in store for us.

Did You See?? ...Arlenis Sosa

One of the new top black models, Arlenis Sosa, attended a very swanky soiree at NYC's Saks Fifth Ave. According to style.com it was the launch of the 2010 cruise collection from Louis Vuitton. Saks and Vuitton big wigs perused the star studded venue, and Sosa along with other pretty faces added notes to the "wishing tree" that LV provided for the event, hoping to have their wishes granted.

Sosa wore a body-concious lavender dress with t-strap heels, and a jacket with a sheer ruffle collar. Here's a few items to get you model ready for your big event (like Upscale tomorrow at 8pm at GFAC in downtown Flint, MI).

Lara Stone Replaces Madonna As Face of Louis Vuitton

I thought Madonna was doing a smashing job at LV. Guess not, seeing as though Dutch model, Lara Stone is reportedly being shot by Steven Meisel for Louis Vuitton's new Spring/Summer fashion campaign.

I think it's a good move for LV, because Stone's mug slays. Her bone structure is amazing and her eyes will cut through the God's. I can't wait until the ad comes out. New background for my computer, maybe? :)

Kimora Sprouse???

So I'm pretty sure your familiar with the Steven Sprouse inspired line of Louis Vuitton bags and accessories. If not, Marc Jacobs dedicated a line a collection to Steven Sprouse who was a very influential designer and artist who passed in 2004. Anywho, I found a bag that looks very familiar to the Sprouse collection but instead of Louis Vuitton it reads..."Kimora Lee Simmons".

I love Kimora with all my heart but, c'mon lady...you're not a knock off brand, show some originality. Smh...

Madonna is SHOT!

I guess Marc was thoroughly impressed with this spring’s Louis Vuitton campaign with Madonna that decided on an encore. Even though he has the same muse he says "I want something completely different". Using solarization they went to give this campaign "something very graphic, more edgy" than the first. Photographer Steven Meisel depicted Madonna as a French coquette in a Parisian bistro setting Arnault boasts that "We're one of the rare brands to have not reduced investments" Well Excuuuuuuuuse me! Lol

Bag it Up

This is strictly for the fellas (unfortunately). The new fall/winter 09 Vuittion bags are inspired by the "traveling wardrobe of the African King". Well let me let you in on a secret (whispering) if I see a guy with any of these bags, I'll be on a quest to make him MY king, lol j/k.

I would have to say the honeycomb stitched bag is my absolute favorite. The LV team really out did themselves this time around.

No need to know prices right?? lol

Martin Louis The King Jr....

When it comes to the sneaker/rapper collaborations, hands down Mr. West snags the crown....over and over again! I mean, honestly lets recap the competitors...Nelly (nope), Jay-Z (1 good pair), Hurricane Chris (LMAO!!!). When you take the most creative man in show business, and back him with a crazy design team in Louis V, can someone say SUCCESS!!!? The photo below shows a new concept design that Kanye is working on with the Vuitton design team that seems really dope. The color schemes are what sets these off. I'm sure that they'll require an arm and a leg, but at least that one foot you have left will be stylin'... =^) -$YD K3MP

LV Exclusive

Louis Vuitton has just release their new Totally GM monogrammed tote available worldwide online. It's a pretty hefty size tote with cowhide piping, and considering the size and the universally known LV logo splashed across the bag, $1,100 doesn't sound all that bad.

Or does it?...You decide

It's In My Louie Bag

The things that Marc Jacobs does over at Louis Vuitton are just pure style inspiration. This is probably the only denim bag I would sport, and besides it's amazing exterior it also has a python interior lining! Now c'mon what better definition of luxury could you ask for? The only thing is, I wouldn't want to put anything in the bag...could you imagine your lotion spilling out on your python lining??? Omg that would be one sad day.

Kanye West & Travis McCoy

Guys edition. Fellas in this edition we have style icon Kanye West (aka Martin Louis the King Jr.) and Travis McCoy (front man of Gym Class Heroes). Both wearing a Louis Vuitton signature belt ($405 wtf??) and a Dee & Ricky logo heart pin ($65). Now I can't lie, fellas I do have a weakness for J's, but what do you think, do you like it like THIS (Kanye) or like THAT (Travis)?

It's In The Bag

I must admit that over the years I've become quite the bag hag. Most of the time I go straight to the bag or shoe section in the store and now I have all the more reason to.
We're finally seeing a break in the oversized bag trend and what's coming up strong is still pretty much oversized but I guess what has changed is the way you carry it. It's a mixture between a clutch and a regular purse because it still has a strap...but you just disregard the strap. I think it's really chic, and all the designers from Versace to Fendi has adopted this new bag. And honestly I can't afford to lose the space of an oversized bag to a teeny tiny clutch...a girl just has too much baggage.
Just like all other styles of bags you can get a clurse (oh u like that don't you) in all colors, styles, sizes, and textures to fit your needs. These may have to be added to my on going birthday list that will be available to you soon...don't fret!

Get a clurse at a trendy store near you.

Verdict For The Defendant

After four long years, fashion power house Louis Vuitton lost their court case for trademark infringement against every high school girls handbag line, Dooney & Burke. LV has been trying to convince a judge that Dooney's multi-colored monogrammed handbags looked too much like theirs and could possibly confuse customers. It is rumored that LV plans on appealing the decision. I mean, honestly I don't see how anyone can get Louis Vuitton and Dooney & Burke confused. Just look at the price tag! WWD had something to say about the issue as well.
"Although she acknowledged the similarities between the two designs, Scheindlin noted Vuitton's LV mark used a larger font size and consisted of "a combination of letters and shapes," while the Dooney & Bourke design featured an unadorned DB."

And plus, who still rocks multi-colored monogram?! Get over it LV...
