Agyness Deyn does NYLON Korea

If you keep up with a lot of the international issues of magazines, you had to have spotted Ms. Dope, Agyness Deyn (whom which I haven't heard much about lately, hmmm...) in this months issue of NYLON Korea.

She's shot modeling a brand called IDOHC, whose logo looks a lot like American Eagles. Like, a lot.

Check out a few more pics below.

Aggy, if you're reading this...we miss you!

Essence of Amerie

The underdog who's back on the scene, Amerie, vamped it up for the November 2009 issue of Essence Magazine for her Sophisticated Lady spread. When I was flipping through the spread I was thinking to myself that it looked like the petite star, but I had to see her name just to be sure. I would love to see her get into more editorials, she's become a staple at all the fashion weeks and I know she would kill it. I was happy to see that this spread was shot by Andrew Yee, who I worked with on a shoot for the November 2008 issue for Nylon. Andrew is amazing and fun to work with, which explains why these images came out so gorgeous.

Uhhh...

Here we have hip-hop goddess Queen Latifah with theater goddess Liza Minelli, both wear hip black cocktail outfits. Latifah looks dope, head to ankles. I see the NYLON support, but not at the 20th Anniversary party for Paper Magazine and NOT with that cocktail dress. Black people, we gotta do better.

Third Times A Charm

Actress, Kirsten Dunst is the lucky gal who has had the privilege of appearing on the cover of your teenagers favorite magazine, NYLON, 3 times. You can catch her on the covers of The Virgin Suicides, Bring It On, and most recently, Marie Antoinette, which was also the first time NYLON put a guy on our cover, in the form of the awesome Jason Schwartzman.

Choo On This!

Last week, Dani Stahl of Nylon Magazine raids her desk for the hottest stuff of the season. I know you all we're fixed on those Jimmy Choo shoes that she rocked, just as I was. Well if you planned on picking up these beauties, make sure you don't forget the matching clutch. For about $1200, you can add this to the collection. Even though it might be worth more than anything you can actually hold in it (especially if your credit cards have a $500 limit). But it's hot pink, so who cares?! :-)

Nylon Rocks Out!

They've done shoe collaborations, partnered with Urban Outfitters, set up tours, and now every cool kids favorite magazine has launched their very own record label. Kicking off with the Plastiscines, Nylon used all its resources by having the editor in chief shoot the album cover, and having the fashion team style the bands first video. I think this was a natural direction for the mag to go in because they do such a good job at discovering new talent and exposing them to the world. Now...they can get a cut of the profit!

Tag Team: Anda and Masha

This unassuming duo has been basically running the fashion styling game. This is Masha and Anda and they've styled for everyone from Rihanna to Misha Barton, and worked for mags from i-D to Nylon. Although their work is very versatile they still have a distinct way of styling that combines street eclectic style with high fashion pieces that make you instantly think "Masha and Anda must've styled this shoot".

I've seen them for awhile now on the Masthead on Marie Claire's website giving style tips sponsored by Diesel. And now they're on TheStylist.com which is a collaboration between style.com and Dillard's. The pair compliment each other really well and although they look like sisters Anda was born in NYC and Masha is a native of Yugoslavia. I'm sure they will continue to inspire us in editorials and coach designer looks down the runway.

Fruits of their labor:

Vogue You Better Watch Out!

NYLON magazine is one of the hottest magazines hitting the pavement and I must say I am starting to love it just as much as Vogue, which has been my All-Time Favorite since 2005 when Kate Moss The Boss was on the cover. But ever since I picked up my first issue of NYLON back in August 2007 when the infamous Nicole Richie was on the cover saying "I don't have a clue why I'm famous, either." The magazine is filled with many interesting things ranging from music to, of course, the latest in the fashion world. Recently NYLON teamed up with Urban Outfitters for the NYLON SUMMER MUSIC TOUR 2008 which just started this past week on the 8th and runs until June 21st. They have also collaborated with MySpace.com to create School of Rock which allows fans to ask numerous bands how they learned to how rock out! The Q&A's will be put in Mays Issue that comes out on the 29th. So be looking out because NYLON is on it's way to becoming a great magazine. Kudos to co-founder, Marvin Scott Jarrett! If you haven't picked up an issue of NYLON make sure you do next time you go to get your Vogue, k?
