In 1946 Norma Jean began using the stage name Marilyn Monroe, but did not legally change her name until February 23, 1956. During the 1940s Marilyn was modeling & posing for pinup calendars as well as magazine covers. The 1947 calendar entitled The Right Number ~ Sunoco is one of her first pinup calendar appearances. This calendar pre-dates the famous Tom Kelly session.
MARILYN MONROE CHAMPION CALENDAR CAUGHT SHORT 1953
Between the production of Love Happy in 1949 & its release in the spring of 1950, Marilyn hit her lowest point financially. With no film work on the horizon & few modeling prospects Marilyn could not make ends meet. Desperate for cash she agreed to pose completely nude for photographer Tom Kelley on the condition that his wife Natalie be present during the session. Marilyn was only paid $50.00 for the photo session.
MARILYN MONROE CHAMPION CALENDAR COMING OUT ON TOP 1954
On May 27, 1949 Marilyn posed for the calendar photograph that would one day make her a household name. She signed the release form 'Mona Monroe' in a halfhearted effort to mask her identity. Kelley produced 24 transparencies of two basic poses, one a full-length profile of Marilyn lying on red velvet, the other a seated Marilyn with her head tossed back & legs tucked beneath her.

Contrary to popular belief the full-length profile shot entitled 'A New Wrinkle' became the original calendar photo. The second pose titled 'Golden Dreams' became the most popular of the two appearing on calendars, decks of cards, key chains, toy TV viewers, coasters, trays, glasses & a host of other collectibles. In December of 1953 'Golden Dreams' was used to launch the premiere issue of Hugh Hefner's Playboy magazine.

THE GOLDEN DREAM CALENDARS
The Golden Dreams calendars were produced throughout the 1950s & early 1960s. The 1952 calendars never had her name on them. As stated by the one & only Marilyn Monroe in the video below 'Marilyn Monroe Red Velvet Sitting Golden Dreams': "In March 1952, wire journalist Aline Mosby broke the story that starlet Marilyn Monroe was nude calendar girl." Most 1953 calendars were produced with Marilyn Monroe's name on them. Some were printed Marilyn Monroe & others were printed Posed By Marilyn Monroe. A few rare 1953 calendars do not have her name on them because they used 1952 lithographic prints. All Golden Dreams calendars produced after 1953 have the Marilyn Monroe name on them.

I love street style. It’s so much fun to re-create an outfit I see fellow fashionistas rocking. So, while walking down the street to a very cool music event in San Francisco, I recently attended, I took my digital camera, ready to people watch and find my fashion muse for the night. I was really smitten with the eclectic and personal style of this girl. I really loved her Porkpie hat, funky jewelry, and hot pink nail polish. Here is how I would recreate and remix her outfit.
Thank you for all of your lovely supportive comments and your lovely caring letters xxxx, and I really apologize for not calling in on everyone to leave my personal comments. We haven't stopped for days now and I think we are both feeling the strain. Our insurance company have drawn up a jobs list that completes in October well at least it is this year......say no more! though I know we are not in such a bad mess like so many flooded homes both in this country and our friends far away in Australia xxx
On a brighter note I am throwing myself into re designing the whole of the basement......why not, if its going to be a mess for months...lets have some fun with it...
Love Lynn xxxx

Rachel Smith, host of the popular weekly celebrity news and entertainment show,'On The Red Carpet' did a fabulous shoot for our current issue of Regard Magazine. The Nashville native and Miss USA 2007 was a natural in front of the camera as she modeled gowns from celebrity bridal designer, Simin Haute Couture. We had a great time singing along with the Christmas carols that were stuck playing the whole day. Thanks, Rachel, for a great shoot..... And a special Thanks to Simin for the beautiful dresses and location.....
Fellas! You can tell a lot about a man by the kind of watch he’s wearing, or not wearing. Whether you’re trying to demonstrate your chivalry, or how cool you are, there’s no better accessory for a man to convey his style, than through his watch. That said, there are 3 watches all men should have in their wardrobe: An everyday watch, a sporty watch, and a dressy watch.
1- For an everyday watch durability is the most important element to look for. Be sure this watch has a resilient and secure band. Leather, PVC or bracelet style is all up to you, as long as it will stand up to the wear and tear of your everyday activities, from the office to the movie date. Simplicity is also a key, and will allow you to wear it with almost anything. If this happens to be the only watch in your collection, try a watch with exchangeable bands.
2- A sporty watch is a great option to have if you have an active outdoor life and want to time your mile, or if you just want to look cool at the golf course. Whatever your purpose, a sport watch can be essential. Easily worn with jeans and a t shirt, or to the lake for a camping or fishing trip. Invest in a water proof chronograph version that has classic style.
3- If your everyday watch is enough for you and you’re not the kind of guy that has need for an arsenal of time pieces, at the very least, the one other watch you must have is a fancy one. One you only wear for very special occasions, like your best friend’s wedding, or a formal work event. This extra option will give you just a little extra room to show some personality; classy, understated, yet rich looking.
I won't bore you with the tears..or the mess...or the bacteria report!!!..but next doors( 5 bedroom student let) sewage pipe burst through our wall into our basement kitchen and we have spent days and days now cleaning up...you don't want to know anymore trust me! its horrible...........
See you soon keep smiling

The trench coat is a great classic and has been a fashion staple for nearly a century. They are not only an ideal outerwear option for transitioning weather but they are back with a vengeance on all the hottest winter/spring runways. Here are a few important guidelines to explore when choosing an option that suites you best.
Your overcoat is one of the more important pieces you will invest in. Quality is vital as you will wear it for years to come. Choose a classic cut with shoulders that fit well, and are structured but not padded. Look for classic lines and finished seams.
A trench can be a great option for a professional environment in rain, but very traditional looking versions can not only look severe but can also run the risk of making you look like Inspector Gadget. Instead, be sure your trench is tailored for a lady. While keeping with the idea of classic lines for inspiration, try a fun print, slightly different cut or interesting color. Have Fun!
The styles of the 70’s are back in full effect, and we love that. However, a word of caution, not all 70’s gold glitters. Although, this is one of our favorite decades, you won’t want to look as if you were sucked into a time warp, or like an extra on ‘That 70’s Show’. So, how can you embrace the cool comeback of this era? We thought you’d never ask.
There are a few key components to hippie hotness: high wasted denim, suede fringe, and platform shoes. These three basic elements can easily be added to any wardrobe. Make it modern though, by incorporating items you already have or by mixing quintessential 70’s-esque pieces with minimalist basics.
Here are three outfit ideas we put together to help get you started.....
P.S. My latest obsession is MUXO bags, by Camilla Alves. They are sooooo amazingly chic, and fit perfectly into my storyboard. All three bags are by her design and can be found at MyMuxo.com
Layering is an important component for winter dressing. It's great for warmth and it allows for the creative use of one’s entire wardrobe. With that in mind, I love the idea of skirts for winter.
Here are two super cute options for winter weather now, and spring weather later. One Skirt, worn two ways for two seasons.
Try it by taking a spring, summer item and making it work for winter by layering.... add a sweater, tights, boots and voila!, you are ready for winter. Enjoy!
Adetokumboh M'Cormack'sname is just as fabulous as he is. In this behind the scenes video you can see this alum of features like "24," "Blood Diamond" and "Heros," was quite comfortable in front of the camera as he showcased the fabulous suitings by Duncan Quinn. He looked amazing in each of the suits and, of course, was a blast to work with. Be on the lookout for Ade in his next project, the spring blockbuster movie, "Battle: Los Angeles."

Not too long ago, a friend of the editors, Mr. Hector B., voiced his concern about women’sfootwear. He was quite adamant about his disdain for Ugg type boots stating, “I vowed to never ever be interested in women with Uggs”, and “not only that, but have your ever walked behind a girl with year old Uggs and they have a gangsta lean to them? You know when your heel is where you ankle should be! Oh man, that is not a good look!”
Enough said, Hector. So, the question remains; what winter footwear do men find acceptable for women, that women will also find warm, comfortable and suitable for winter conditions? Ladies, thanks to Hector, I’ve done the research. At every price point, here are my picks for best winter boots, minus theUgg-ly.
-Look for boots with grooves and tread on the bottom. This will eliminate slipping if it’s raining or if you happen to live where it snows.
-If you want warmth, comfort and height, a wedge is a great option. They are easy to walk in and maneuver in if the weather becomes in climate. Plus, the wedge makes it possible to combine a little sexy with functionality.
-If you are going to wear a heel in winter weather, stacked heels are the best. They have a larger heel surface area which provides better support, than say, a stiletto shaped heel. This will alleviate some of the riskiness of wearing a high heel during the cold season.
