Lara Stone Replaces Madonna As Face of Louis Vuitton

I thought Madonna was doing a smashing job at LV. Guess not, seeing as though Dutch model, Lara Stone is reportedly being shot by Steven Meisel for Louis Vuitton's new Spring/Summer fashion campaign.

I think it's a good move for LV, because Stone's mug slays. Her bone structure is amazing and her eyes will cut through the God's. I can't wait until the ad comes out. New background for my computer, maybe? :)

Rihanna Breaks The Silence

Right when I was about to do a write-up on Rihanna's new album cover (pictured above) and her speaking on her album, or lack thereof. I mean, I was about to go IN!

She has been quiet for so long about her album; the direction, her inspiration, collaborations, etc. Luckily she has die-hard stans that won't hold it against her.

But right before I was going to give Miss RiRi a piece of my mind, she comes back with another promo video. She has got television channel, ABC on her side and for the FIRST time she is telling HER story. They make it so dramatic. Stay tuned this Thursday at 7 a.m. for Good Morning America and Friday night at 10, for 20/20.

Her marketing team goes awf. Not off. AWF.

Rehearsal Pics Berlin - Wella Awards

Some hoop shots!

Samhain....gossamer shadows to lead us home....

Let our dear one's that have gone before us.
Return this night and make merry with us
And when our time comes as it must,
Oh thou the Comforter the Consoler'
The Giver of peace and rest.
We will enter thy realms gladly and unafraid
For we know that ,
When rested and refreshed amongst our dear ones
We will be reborn again, by thy grace,
And the grace of the Great Mother.
Let it be in the same place, and at the same time'
As our beloved ones.
And may we meet, and know, and remember, and love them again.
May we all be blessed with happy memories on this eve
.
With much love
Lynn

Kate Moss Launches New Fragrance: Vintage

Kate Moss perfected the art of wanting women to look like her. Now she's working on having you all smell like her too. Her new fragrance in collaboration with perfumer Olivier Polge, Vintage is a must-have. It's the perfect blend of fruity and floriental smell-good. The eau de parfum is said to represent Kate’s individual style and the vintage theme goes with the scent’s 20s/30s-inspired faceted bottle.

"I am fascinated by vintage pieces because they not only have a remarkable beauty, but also an innate sense of history. I love the fact that each object has its own story to tell," Kate says, when asked about Vintage. The ad campaign is a modern classic, with Moss looking amazing.

Vintage by Kate Moss eau de parfum costs £35 for 30ml. Available at Boots nationwide or you can check out katemossparfums.com for additional stockist info.

Agyness Deyn does NYLON Korea

If you keep up with a lot of the international issues of magazines, you had to have spotted Ms. Dope, Agyness Deyn (whom which I haven't heard much about lately, hmmm...) in this months issue of NYLON Korea.

She's shot modeling a brand called IDOHC, whose logo looks a lot like American Eagles. Like, a lot.

Check out a few more pics below.

Aggy, if you're reading this...we miss you!

OAK NYC For The Low

Here's something that I would consider a reasonable priced gift for a loved one: Black faux suede strap closed toe platform heel.

Long name. Short price.

$72 is a great price for something from OAK. No shade, I love their clothes...or rather, love to LOOK at them. If you can agree, how about you change that and purchase a pair, even if it's for the most important person - You.

P.S. - They're also available in a Royal Blue.

The Bridge - Melanie Fiona

I've just recently become a Melanie Fiona fan when I first got the chance to listen to her first single, "It Kills Me" off of her new album, The Bridge (I posted the music video about a week ago).

Above is a video of Melanie and her crew as they travel to Canada for the second stop in her series of live performances. Her voice is amazing and much more developed and well-tamed than a lot of the female artists that have been in the game for years. I appreciate good music, and I know our readers do too, so make sure you pick up your copy of The Bridge on iTunes, today. I have my copy!

Converse Spring 2010 Collection

Converse is always a cool collection to enjoy. Over the years, they have still been a simple must-have in your closet. Even if you just want to run out for a quick bite to eat with some friends or even get spruced up, but still keep it really casual...Chucks are there. They just recently held a showcase/scavenger hunt in New York, starting at the Chelsea Hotel. One thing I love about the classic shoe line is that they are always coming with fresh and new ideas and designs, so that the traditional look is still in place, just with a little twist. Below are a few photos from the collection.

A Velvet Bird and Saskii...for Karin

Photobucket

Please meet little baby Saskii who hales from the far shores of the Baltic Sea.

Her face is fair and her skin is soft as velvet.

Photobucket

Baby Saskii, as sweet as she is, gave her nursemaid fits as she unsuccessfully tried to convince the baby to nap.
How can a baby grow, her family worried, if she will not sleep soundly?
They sought far and wide to find someone to help.

Photobucket

Their search ended when they came upon Sasuke, a rare bird from the Orient with a reputation of resolve that was firm....but gentle.
Sasuke assured them she could help the child find her rest.

Immediately she took to Saskii...

Photobucket

And Saskii to her.

Photobucket

Securing her with a silken scarf onto her her soft feathered back, Sasuke took Saskii on gentle flights wafting across the clouds to the far reaches of the earth...during long nap times.

As they flew along, the Wind whistled a timeless lullaby through Sasuke's feathers as the blissful wee babe slept ever so soundly.

Photobucket

The Velvet Bird is my first fully fabric sculpture. She is built over a wire armature and wears very soft pink velvet as her fine clothing. Real feathers are her tail. Glittered and pearl lace serve as her wings. Glass eyes inset in polymer rims, are beneath a handmade golden crown. Large and small pearls are sewn into her tail dotted with pretty little flowers.

Photobucket

Her poseable toes are gold lacquered wire.

Saskii is puresculpted from Cernit, texture painted and finished with earth powders. Her nightcap is silk, lace and pearls. Stretchd out she would be a 5 inch scale baby.

Photobucket

Thank you dear Karin for graciously giving me the happy opportunity to create this sweet companion set. It was thrilling to actually make my first ever velvet bird sculpture...I am so glad you asked!!

Saskii and Sasuke will be flying home to you very soon...always love, Rose

Robin Givhan Speaks Her Mind

Lots of people choose their roles and play them very well. But with Robin Givhan I refuse to believe her "tell it like it is" columns are apart of a character to stir up controversy. The Pulitzer Prize winning fashion journalist for the Washington Post ruffles peoples feathers with nearly every key stroke. Recently I read her latest article titled "Yes, Thin's In-- But Why Is That A Surprise", and her suggestion that the ideal model is super thin because the general population is obese, led to countless comments...and almost none of them sided with Givhan.

I personally saw the point she was making. The fashion industry is a fantasy world that creates images of what we all aspire to be, and if the sight of obesity frustrates the industry (not just because of looks, but because of health and discipline) than the image of thin models will be the standard.

I was curious to know how Givhan felt about the back lash she always receives because of her articles and here's what she told me:

"I appreciate your note. I write what I believe to be true and I try to be fair and decent in the way that I express my opinions. It's pretty much as simple as that. While I am curious to know what readers think, I find it difficult to read some of the comments posted. Anonymity seems to bring out the worst in people.

-Robin"
With a long list of angry readers and a front row seat during fashion week, Robin continues to shine light on fashion from a totally different angle. And for that a Pulitzer is well deserved.

T-Rains

Former designer of the late clothing line, Heatherette, Traver Rains has moved on to a new project. He's started a t-shirt line called, T-Rains.

How creative? *PAUSE*

This Big Mac tee is included in his first collection.

You can order this shirt and plenty more cool shirts at:www.t-rains.com

I don't know how big he plans on making T-Rains...maybe if he does some expanding in the NEAR future, because shirts are so...shirts. Ya know?

Mulberry For Mans Best Friend

British label Mulberry is not only worried about keeping me and you warm this winter, but your dog. This Fall they will be debuting winter coats for small dogs in lumberjack check and the classic Mulberry tweed. Scrape up $140 and stuck this under your tree for your pup.

Fit For A Southern Belle

Clothing collection, Belle Sauvage is a winner in my book and it's all because of this Karl (Lagerfeld) dress. For $173, it's not needed to spend your last, but when you got it, get it.

The only problem that I see in the dress is that it is “body con,” (meaning there’s no way to know quite how it fits). But if you're not worried about that, because your body fits any and everything, visit Pixie Market and add this dress to your closet.

That's a Pretty Personal Question

I hope you're not so stuck on the Target and H&M collaborations that you're not paying attention to the Adidas designer features. When they get with a designer, they spare us the simple t-shirts and basic pieces and go straight for the kill.

Following in the footsteps of Stella McCartney and Jeremy Scott is the British label PPQ- Pretty Personal Question (cute, I know). This is their first collection with Adidas, and the use of the signature black and white stripes is right up my alley. Please excuse me while I run to the nearest Adidas store!

Gorgeous Hair

Marie Claire magazine is big on hair trends. Under their hair and beauty section they featured new winter hair styles and based it around the bob --personal fav :-). This Marc Jacobs runway inspired style is absolutely amazzzing. How you obtain it? Only God knows...but this is definitely a picture to take to the hair dresser when preparing for one of those important evenings outs.

Don't forget the deep red lips!

Essence of Amerie

The underdog who's back on the scene, Amerie, vamped it up for the November 2009 issue of Essence Magazine for her Sophisticated Lady spread. When I was flipping through the spread I was thinking to myself that it looked like the petite star, but I had to see her name just to be sure. I would love to see her get into more editorials, she's become a staple at all the fashion weeks and I know she would kill it. I was happy to see that this spread was shot by Andrew Yee, who I worked with on a shoot for the November 2008 issue for Nylon. Andrew is amazing and fun to work with, which explains why these images came out so gorgeous.

Rihanna's Newest Single: Russian Roulette

Twitter has reached capacity. Facebook and MySpace are going awf. Everyone and their mom is talking about it. The Wait Is Really OVA. Get in.

I was sitting in class, headphones in ears (shame on me) and hands ready to click on the first link of Rihanna's newest single "Russian Roulette".

The song is nothing anyone expected, which is only one of the reasons why I love it. We we're looking right. She went left. The slow tempo and beat was everything I needed, & I didn't even know.

Just see for yourself. Rihanna - Russian Roulette

Crows talking................

One by one each step draws us closer to our dreams, whatever they may be...........
Saturday was beautiful.
The crows whispered ancient secrets in the trees
rattling bare branches like bones, we saw a hind as if Diana gliding and leaping across the lowland meadows and later as we climbed high, the milky sun drew long pale shadows across the mountains. High up amongst the stones we saw a cloaked figure, hidden half amongs the ferns and heather watching us climb, when we reached him he was shrouded in the soft yellow lichen and granite stone, a watcher, a protector of the landscape from times long ago.
We dined on chocolate tiffin cake and hot teas, buttery toast and cinnamon sprinkles.
Then indulged in the exquisite inspiring gifts that this gorgeous shop stocks...
Wishing you a peaceful and happy week
Love Lynn xxxx
