DEMOCRACY IN GHANA
So Ghana just came out of an unprecedented 3rd round election run-off. The opposition party came victorious today ending a very volatile atmosphere of panic. Every ghanaian including all west african nations had a stake in this crazy election. finally peace prevailed in the nation of GHANA.
I must duff my hat to all the citizens of ghana because not all countries enjoy peaceful elections, let alone a 3rd round election.
Well....lets see how weird ghana election was....
On the first round election, no candidate surpassed the 50% benchmark to win, so they had a 2nd round election. That too ended with discrepancies hence they went for a 3rd round. Gods willing, nothing unthinkable happened. The new president is a scholar named professor Atta Mills of the NDC party.
Kudos and more praises to ghana for setting an example to the rest of the continent. This election secured the West African nation's place as a beacon of democracy on a volatile continent.
Lets wish other countries in africa ravaged with war as a result of elections well. Malawi, kenya etc may learn from ghana
