Aurora Lopez Mejia

This weekend I was visiting different blog sites and I was reading a post about hot accessories for the summer and one of pieces was this bracelet pictured above. Now, out of the thousands of accessories that I've seen, the collection of jewelery from Aurora Lopez Mejia has to be one of the most unique of them. Not knowing anything about the designer and the jewels, I decided to do some research.

Aurora Lopez Mejia is a designer who was been working on designing jewelery since the age of 9. She started by making simple necklaces out of plastic lettered beads and giving them to friends as tokens of love. Over the years, those first pieces have evolved into a collection of amulets, bracelets and rings whose shapes echo the curves of nature. Each piece is hand-stamped with a message meant to empower love, harmony and compassion. OK, that little bit was taken from the designers website, lol.

What I LOVE about the collection is that almost all of the pieces have some type of writing on it; whether it be one word or a whole inspirational quote. It gives the jewelery a real meaning and it gives others something to look at and we all know that's a plus. Aurora's accessories are everything from rings and bracelets to earrings and belts. I really enjoyed looking at the pendants. They even have some that are masculine enough for the fellas. Yesss!

Aurora Lopez has been featured in plenty of editorial work. Her work has been in my all-time favorite magazine, Italian Vogue. Others include, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, City and Black Book. The only thing that stops me from ordering something from the website is the price. Your parents better own a couple Fortune 500 companies if you trying to sport some ALM. With prices ranging from $200-$22,000 I say let's start making our own jewelry Doni, lol! It's cute but it ain't THAT cute...hmph!

Well you can at least look at the pretty accessories. And if you a boss b#^%$ then purchase something, lol. Click here to visit the website.
