SO I have loved Keyshia Cole from jump. Her songs always factor into the soundtrack of my life...she was my musical best friend last month! She seems like the homegirl that would help you play on your exes phone (Not that Shade does that; mind you...he's far too mature; but if he were to--he'd holla at Keyshia)! She's had many looks, starting from when she burst on the scene in '04 and like me, she seems to be always transforming those locks. It might be a scorpio thang...I digress
IN the beginning there was Keyshia with the Kool-Aid hair and a dress better suited for a nightclub not an awards ceremony. She was young and was still carrying her Hoodrat card. She's been forgiven. Next she tried to step it up with expensive casual attire. This was a small step, however she gets an A for effort.

THEN Keylolo brought out her Grown Woman and rocked a lovely satin number to the '07 BET awards. I knew she was getting it together when the hair got a little more understated. This was the year her sophomore album hit the shelves and I think she figured it was time to leave some things behind...the Kool Aid perhaps?
NOW Ms.Cole is really classing it up! I think understated works better for her personality. Softer, more feminine lines and textures make me want to go out to lunch with her. She seems approachable and is even rocking a fresh-as-a-daisy smile!
Keyshia is living the American dream! SHe's taught me a little something: Fashion is a lot like relationships--you find an item you really like and you save up to buy it, then when you finally get it you wear it until it frays then you have to throw it out! You cry and cry because you saved up hard-earned money and it was the cutest belt/shoe/hat, but it frayed so you Let It Go. Keyshia knows better than anyone...well maybe not better than Mary J!
AND as always; Fashion can be applied to anything in life. Depressed? Get your hair done! Happy? Get your hair done! Drunk? Keep your skirt down! In love? Wear your sunglasses at night!
